The Grand Ada Cheese Box

Order by 2pm, and it is at your hotel reception by 10pm. Ada's full counter. Five cheeses, two packets of crackers, the chutney, and no need for dinner. Cut to order on the day it's delivered and brought to your hotel reception or front door anywhere in central London.

A hamper, really, though Ada would call it a box.

Inside the box

Baron Bigod (200g) – a soft, bloomy-rinded cow's milk cheese from Suffolk. Rich, creamy and earthy.

Spenwood (200g) – a hard sheep's milk cheese from Berkshire. Nutty and sweet.

Cashel Blue (200g) – Irish farmhouse blue from Tipperary. Salty, medium to strong, creamy at the end.

Michael's Mount (100g) – a whole soft goat's cheese, medium strength, earthy and fresh.

Quicke's Vintage Cheddar (200g) – a clothbound, mature cheddar from Devon. Proper cheddar: deep, savoury, with a long creamy finish.

With two packets of handmade crackers and a jar of seasonal chutney. Nine hundred grams of cheese, which is a serious evening for four, a lavish one for two, or the start of a very good week.

Looking after it

Keep it somewhere cool, take it out half an hour before you eat, and finish it within a few days. Contains milk; ask us about anything else. Ada has written a few words on looking after cheese.

Delivery

Order before 2pm (12 noon on Sundays) and it arrives today, any time up to 10pm; order later and it arrives the next day the counter is open. Ada's counter rests on Mondays, so Sunday-afternoon and Monday orders arrive on Tuesday. Central London, Zones 1–3.
