The Classic London Cheese Box

Order by 2pm, and it is at your hotel reception by 10pm. Three cheeses, chosen so that the plate has a beginning, a middle and an end. Cut to order by our cheesemonger on the day it's delivered, and brought to your hotel reception or front door anywhere in central London.

Inside the box

Baron Bigod (200g) – a soft, bloomy-rinded cow's milk cheese from Suffolk, in the style of a Brie de Meaux. Rich and creamy, with an earthy, mushroomy edge that deepens as it warms.

Spenwood (200g) – a hard sheep's milk cheese from Berkshire. Nutty and sweet, a little like a young pecorino, and the one people go back to.

Cashel Blue (200g) – Ireland's best-known farmhouse blue, from Tipperary. Medium to strong, salty, and finished with real creaminess rather than bite.

With a packet of handmade crackers and a jar of seasonal chutney. Six hundred grams of cheese in all: a generous evening for two, or a good hour's grazing for four.

Looking after it

Keep it somewhere cool, take it out half an hour before you eat, and finish it within a couple of days. Contains milk; ask us about anything else. Ada has written a few words on looking after cheese.

Delivery

Order before 2pm (12 noon on Sundays) and it arrives today, any time up to 10pm; order later and it arrives the next day the counter is open. Ada's counter rests on Mondays, so Sunday-afternoon and Monday orders arrive on Tuesday. Central London, Zones 1–3.
