Find a penny, pick it up, and all day long you'll have good luck.
Letterpress printed by hand, in a limited edition, with a real pre-decimal penny tucked in. Blank inside, kraft envelope, cellophane sleeve.
The rhyme is older than anyone can trace and everybody's grandmother said it. We have set it in wood-type capitals and Victorian fancy faces inside a border of printers' flowers, and printed it by hand on a press nearly a hundred years old, so the letters sit down into the card and you can feel them.
Then we have done the obvious thing and put a penny in with it. Not a new one. An old British penny, the big bronze coin with Britannia on the back that went out with decimalisation in 1971, from the drawer of coppers every household used to have. The year varies from card to card, so you may get one older than you are. The luck, we are assured, is the same.
It is a card to send to someone who could use a bit of luck: an exam, an interview, a move, a first day. It is blank inside, so the words are yours, and it comes with a kraft envelope, ready to post. It is also just a very good object to leave on a desk.
Each card is pulled by hand, so the impression and the inking vary a little; that is the point of doing it this way. Printed in a limited edition: when they are gone, they are gone.
Delivery
Free, anywhere we send to. Add it to a box and it rides along; order it alone and it goes flat in a stiff envelope by post, to your London hotel, any UK address, or the United States.
